Pittsburgh Con Online 2020

July 17th-18th 2020
Event Code: 2,700,688
Event Lead: Alex Wreschnig
Discord Invite: https://discord.gg/2jVmDSg

Pittsburgh Con Online was originally going to be an in-person con in Pittsburgh, but its COVID-related cancellation has pushed it online for its inaugural year. Join us for PCO 2020 on Friday, July 17th and Saturday, July 18th! We’ll be kicking things off with a multi-table interactive special (PFS1 #2-00 Year of the Shadow Lodge) and we’ll have two slots of games on Saturday! If you’re interested in GMing, you should submit your own game or games before June 15th–we don’t have a fixed schedule for this event. If you would like some help picking what to run, feel free to reach out.

Note: we don’t run this convention ourselves, but we’re organizing Paizo games for it.

Registration and Fees

There’s no fee to register, but we are encouraged to donate to the Food Bank.

Game Listing

Remember, you need to make a warhorn account (if you don’t already have one) and register for Pittsburgh Con Online before you can sign up for games!

We expect these games will likely use Roll20 for the VTT and Discord for audio.

Friday, July 17th from 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM Eastern (UTC -4)

Pathfinder 1e #2-00 Year of the Shadow Lodge

multi-table interactive special; for levels 1-11

When a famous Pathfinder returns to the Grand Lodge in Absalom with a long sought after Azlanti artifact of power, the Society celebrates the achievement by throwing a massive party in Absalom’s arena. When the artifact is stolen during the party, it’s up to you and the other bands of Pathfinders present at the celebration to get it back before it can be used to destroy the Grand Lodge—or worse.

Saturday, July 18th from 10:00 AM  – 3:00 PM Eastern (UTC -4)

Pathfinder 1e #8-24 Raid on Cloudborne Keep

For levels 5-9

Followers of the evil elemental lord of air Hshurha have learned of the Pathfinder Society’s plans to break open the Untouchable Opal and release Hshurha’s ancient rival. One of Hshurha’s lieutenants is gathering forces to deal a decisive blow to the Society and its new allies in the Concordance of Elements. If the PCs act quickly, they can make a daring strike, commandeering an airship on the Plane of Air and overtaking their enemy’s fortress before it has the chance to rally its army.

Pathfinder 2e #1-14 Lions of Katapesh

For levels 1-4; replayable

Goblin patriarch, merchant, and Pathfinder Society ally Yigrig Moneymaker needs help! The cunning goblin merchant has big plans to build a bridge that will connect two promising trade partners, but something is stirring up the local wildlife and convincing the lions and other predators of the Katapeshi plains that goblins are more tasty than can possibly be true. The PCs must find out who’s responsible for the trials Yigrig’s family faces before the lions of Katapesh devour the entire goblin clan and end the chance for trade between two desert cities.

Pathfinder 2e #1-15 The Blooming Catastrophe

For levels 1-4

The Pathfinders travel to Iobaria, where elven druids and centaur warriors are united against an unlikely threat: a self-propagating horde of corrupted leshies! The source of the Abyssal corruption may be tied to a previous trip to Iobaria by the Pathfinder Society, so it falls to the PCs to seek out the source of the leshy incursion and restore balance to the woodlands.

Pathfinder 2e #1-22 Doom of Cassomir

For levels 1-4

Doom stalks the streets of Cassomir! The people of Admiral’s Fen have long been doughty pioneers and sailors, but time and tribulations both natural and economic have worn down their spirits. Amid this widespread gloom and general depression, dark forces have begun pulling strings to begin a societal collapse that could take the entire city under. Venture-Captain Hestia Themis calls on her allies in the Pathfinder Society to try and help her unravel the twisting skeins of manipulation and deceit before Cassomir’s final doom is assured.

Starfinder #1-01 The Commencement

For levels 1-2 (replayable)

All Starfinders complete their training by conferring with Guidance—a network of uploaded personalities embodying paragons from the Starfinder Society’s history. Before receiving the blessing of Guidance, the PCs must meet with and assist critical missions on behalf of key leaders of the Society’s leading factions. With the events of the Scoured Stars Incident still fresh in everyone’s memory, there’s plenty that needs doing to set the Society back on track.

The Commencement is a replayable scenario designed to help introduce players to the factions of the Starfinder Society and areas of importance on Absalom Station.

Saturday, July 18th from 4:00 PM  – 9:00 PM Eastern (UTC -4)

Pathfinder 1e: Module The Emerald Spire Superdungeon, Level 1: The Tower Ruins

For levels 1-2 (replayable)

The adventurers begin their exploration of the strange ruins known as the Emerald Spire.

Pathfinder 1e Special – The Ruins of Bonekeep 1: The Silent Grave

For levels 3-7 – this scenario has extra rewards, but also risks

An enemy of the Pathfinder Society recently found a hidden dungeon in a centuries-old siege fortress, but despite his best efforts to convert it into his base of operations, he failed. When a pair of Pathfinders encounter disaster while scouting out the entrance, the party must explore the first level of the dungeon to determine not just what attacked their comrades but also what dark power their nemesis nearly acquired.

Pathfinder 2e #1-23 – The Star-Crossed Court

For levels 3-6; Repeatable

On an idyllic island of the western coast of Garund, the PCs arrive at the iruxi city of Ekkeshikaar. Seeking to establish new trade relations between the lizardfolk of Ekkeshikaar and the people of Vidrian, the Pathfinder Society must navigate a delicate political landscape while thwarting the efforts of nefarious forces who seek to stop the proposed alliance by any means necessary.

Pathfinder 2e #1-21 Mistress of the Maze

For levels 5-8

Open Decemvirate member Eliza Petulengro is looking for a handful of intrepid Pathfinders to accompany her on an interdimensional journey throught the Maze of the Open Road! Eliza is traveling from the Grand Lodge in Absalom to the Woodsedge Lodge in Galt, but the Maze of the Open Road has become unstable and unpredictable in recent years. Eliza hopes that with help of her fellow Pathfinders, she can secure the road and prepare it for regular use by the Society once more.

Starfinder #2-21 Illegal Shipment

For levels 1-4

As the Swarm invades the distant Suskillon system, a notorious collector of alien life captures several Swarm lifeforms with the intent of selling them to interested buyers. Bringing these creatures to Absalom Station as part of a clandestine trade, events go awry and the trader’s preserved wildlife escape into the station. In order to prevent station-wide panic, the Starfinder Society sends its best agents to find out what happened, track down the escaped Swarm lifeforms, and stop a full-scale infestation at the heart of the Pact Worlds!

GM Information

GM and Player Boons

We have GM boons for PFS1 and Starfinder. You’ll receive your boon after the convention; if you qualify for two different boons, we’ll get in touch and ask which one you prefer.

We have player boons as well. PFS1 and SFS GMs must make every player (and themselves!) roll an unmodified d20 sometime during the game. No rerolls allowed on this! Any player or GM who rolls either a 1 or 20 on the die wins a boon.

PFS2 players and GMs earn Achievement Points, or AcP, instead of boons. AcP will be redeemable in the near* future for many things, including race boons and other benefits.

* The release of Achievement Points may or may not be in the next few weeks, or in the distant future as we lie upon our deathbeds; it’s hard to predict at this point.

Charity Boons

We have three charity boons to share, one for each system: Pathfinder 1 has the Memory of Eshiro item, Pathfinder 2 has the Unconventional Faith boon, and Starfinder has the Manticore.

If you make a donation to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank on or after June 1, screenshot your receipt and email it to us at pittpfs@gmail.com along with some information. (Yes, we need some things like your real name and address–Paizo will physically mail you a copy of the boon if you win one!) For each dollar you donate, you earn one ticket that you can put toward any of the three boons.

We’ll run the drawings on Saturday evening after the end of the slot (at 9:00 PM Eastern).

Charity Boon Rules

Email us:

Your real name
An email address that you regularly check
Your physical mailing address
Your Organized Play ID (no character numbers needed)
The number of tickets you’d like to put into the Pathfinder 1 raffle
The number of tickets you’d like to put into the Pathfinder 2 raffle
The number of tickets you’d like to put into the Starfinder raffle
A screenshot of your receipt

For each US Dollar you contribute to the Pittsburgh Food Bank on or after June 1st, you earn one ticket (round down). If you don’t include what system you want the tickets for, we will split them evenly between the three systems. In case of an uneven split, Pathfinder 2 gets the first leftover ticket and Starfinder gets the second.

In the event that you report a donation in a denomination other than USD, we will do our best to accurately convert the amount of your donation to USD. We will probably use Google and do not promise any particular accuracy.

We’ve made a spreadsheet to track donations. Most of this spreadsheet will not be public, but we will share the last three digits of your organized play number and the number of tickets you have put toward each pot as part of a public rollable table. This is hopefully enough information to let you identify yourself on the table, while not giving away identifiable personal information. If you feel that this is too much information, we recommend you do not report your donation to us.

At the end of the convention, we will publicly roll (in the Pittsburgh PFS/SFS discord server) for each of the three boons.

The organizers won’t be included on the list of potential winners. Our goal with making the rollable table public is to increase trust through transparency.

Each winner may only win one charity boon. In the event that a previous winner is rolled a second time (or more), we will reroll on the table until we get a winner who hasn’t won another boon.

Please remember that these boons are not intended for sale, and have no cash value. By submitting your information, you consent to let us store this information temporarily as per the laws of the United States and Pennsylvania. We promise to delete the information held in the table shortly after the drawing.
