Pathfinder Society 1e Charity Boon: Memory of Eshiro

Memory of Eshiro: Each of the reclusive beings known as kami inhabits and protects a ward, and that ward’s destruction slowly kills its guardian. So perished the kodama kami Eshiro, whose towering oak in the Forest of Spirits fell to enterprising Tian-Min axes centuries ago. Mourning the great tree’s demise, a Minkaian craftswoman fashioned a set of wood bracers from the heartwood, hoping that they would remind the wearer to contemplate the consequences of his hands’ actions. The bracers have since attracted Pei, a tiny shikigami kami (Pathfinder RPG Bestiary 3 163) that has adopted the bracers as its ward.

The memory of Eshiro occupies the wrist slot. The pair of bracers grant you a +1 resistance bonus on all saving throws and a +1 sacred bonus to AC against creatures with the plant type. They also have 3 charges that the wearer can spend to channel the dead kami’s power; these recharge at the beginning of each day. If you defeat a non-kami outsider with the native subtype, the mantle regains 2 charges (maximum once per day). As an immediate action, you can spend 1 charge to gain DR 5/cold iron or slashing until the start of your next turn. You can spend an additional 2 charges to extend this damage reduction to all allies within 30 feet, and you and your allies gain fast healing 5 for 1 round. Although Pei is able to emerge from his ward to converse, he is a noncombatant and cannot perform any actions on your behalf. Both bracers must be worn by the same creature to provide any benefit.

Between adventures, you may enhance the memory of Eshiro to become a greater memory of Eshiro and later an everlasting memory of Eshiro by paying the difference in price between those items. You receive the memory of Eshiro for free, and it has an effective market price of 0 gp. Treat the market price of a greater memory of Eshiro as 6,000 gp and that of an everlasting memory of Eshiro as 20,000 gp. Each version of the set of bracers has a caster level of 12th and a strong aura of abjuration.

A greater memory of Eshiro’s bonus on saving throws and bonus to AC increases to +2. Furthermore, it gains one of the abilities listed below, selected when you first upgrade this item. An everlasting memory of Eshiro’s bonus on saving throws and bonus to AC increases to +4, and it gains an additional one of the abilities below.

• You can spend 1 charge as an immediate action to benefit from speak with animals and speak with plants for 5 minutes.
• The damage reduction granted by the bracers improves to DR 5/cold iron, and any fast healing they grant improves to fast healing 10. If you select this ability a second time, you reduce the cost to grant your allies damage reduction and fast healing to 1 additional charge, and the fast healing increases to 20.
• You can spend 1 charge as an immediate action to double the bracers’ resistance bonus on saving throws against mind-affecting, petrification, and polymorph effects until the beginning of your next turn. When you use this ability, you also end any ongoing bleed effects that you could stop with a DC 20 Heal check.

Pathfinder Society 2e Charity Boon: Unconventional Faith

Unconventional Faith You have an unusual—or perhaps even unique—way of worshipping your deity. You gain access to the Splinter Faith feat (Pathfinder Lost Omens: Gods & Magic 8). If you take this feat after 1st level, you may retrain to change your faith and to change any options that required a domain you no longer have access to without spending any Downtime.

Starfinder Society Charity Boon: Manticore Starship

Experimental Frame: Manticore (Starship Boon): Prior to the Scoured Stars incident, the Manticore was the backbone of the Starfinder Society’s fleet. A combat capable modification of the common explorer frame, this starship was intended to clear the way for the Society’s more scientific starships, like the now-lost Griffon class. The Manticore sacrifices the expansion bays and high-quality quarters found on the newer Starfinder hulls, and instead exchanges them for powerful weaponry. The spinal forward-facing railgun provides major damage against enemy starships, while additional side lasers and a turret-mound missile launcher allow for multiple gunners to thrive onboard the ship. Only a handful of these ships survived the Scoured Stars incident, and you are lucky enough to be entrusted with one.

Benefit: You can only slot this boon in a Subtier 3–4 or 5–6 scenario. When you slot this boon, rather than choosing the standard starships presented in the Starfinder Society Roleplaying Guild Guide (such as the Drake or Pegasus), you can instead choose to take the Manticore frame of the matching tier (the tier 4 version for Subtier 3–4 or the tier 6 version for Subtier 5–6). The statistics for this hull are presented below. This ship can be further upgraded with Starship boons from other characters in the group as normal.

Special: You can use this boon for any Starfinder Society Roleplaying Guild character you create. You must present this boon to use the Manticore, but the boon does not have to be assigned to one of your characters. In addition, you are encouraged to update the Organized Play team on the progress and effectiveness of the Manticore frame. Email organizedplay@paizo.com with information on starship scenarios where you have selected to use the Manticore, and the Organized Play team will endeavor to monitor these results—perhaps eventually resulting in redeployment of the Manticore into the Society’s front line fleet!
